Legislative Newsflash: CAO Updating Mandatory Director Training

The Condominium Authority of Ontario (CAO) is set to launch a new director training program this November, which marks the 7-year anniversary of the CAO’s director training program.

"Director Training 2.0" will be a newly enhanced consumer protection initiative which will replace the existing mandatory training program, and is aimed at continuing to support condominium communities, strengthen governance and better equip directors to be stewards of condominium owners’ investments.

"Director Training 2.0" is based on feedback from the condominium sector and will feature new modules, expanded practical tips and tools, and more.

All active directors must complete the training within six months of being elected to their board and retake the training every seven years.

The CAO will be providing more details in the coming months which we will share with you as it becomes available.
